Cyclist dies after being run over by truck in Ermita, Manila
A 47-year-old cyclist died after colliding with and being run over by an aluminum high-side truck in Ermita, Manila, on Tuesday, May 28.

The Manila Police District (MPD) Vehicular Traffic Investigation Section (VTIS) identified the victim as Dominico Anocop Sr., a resident of Port Area, Manila.
According to reports, the victim was on his way home from work, traveling along the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, at around 12:15 p.m. in the afternoon.
Police said that upon reaching the eastbound section of Padre Burgos, the victim and the truck, which was driven by Aristeo Pablo, both made a right turn.
During the turn, the right side of the victim's bicycle collided with the left rear wheel of the truck.
Due to the collision, the victim fell to the ground and was accidentally hit and run over by the truck's left rear wheel.
The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) reported that the victim died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries.
Authorities said that the victim's body was brought to BVL Funeral Services, while the truck's driver is currently in police custody for further investigation.
