Parañaque LGU, DOH launch cervical cancer screening campaign

The city government of Parañaque and the Department of Health- Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) launched the nationwide Cervical Cancer Screening campaign on Tuesday, May 28.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the program was held at the Golden Ballroom in Okada, Manila. It was participated by Atty. Ding Soriano, chief of staff of Congressman Edwin Olivarez; officials of Okada Manila; and DOH officials led by Dr. Rio Magpantay.
Olivarez said that in line with the observance of Cervical Cancer Consciousness Month this May 2024, the initiative is part of the national government’s goal of raising consciousness on cervical cancer and intensifying its effort to make healthcare services available to women.
He said the services being offered during the rollout of the campaign included human papillomavirus (HPV) tests and vaccination, non-communicable diseases risk assessment, Philhealth profiling, dispensing of medicines, and family planning services.
The mayor said the launching of cervical cancer screening in the workplace by the national government is very much aligned with the city government’s dedication to making quality healthcare accessible to residents.
Olivarez also said the city government continuously conduct various programs and collaborate with different organizations and stakeholders in order to deliver essential services that every resident needs.
