2 men gunned down in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon – A 42-year-old man was shot dead in front of a store before midnight on Monday in Sitio Ilang-Ilang, Barangay Bignay 2, this town.

Police identified the victim as Emmerson Roño.

Investigation said Roño was hanging out in the store when a man arrived and shot him.

He died on the spot and a bystander, Bryan Buela, 42, sustained a bullet  wound and was taken to the Quezon Medical Center here.

The suspect fled and police are conducting follow-up investigation.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old vendor was shot dead while sleeping in his house in Sitio Santa Clara, Barangay Sampaloc 2 here on Monday night.

Police identified the victim as Jayson Alzona.

Alzona was shot in the nape by a lone gunman at about 7:30 p.m. He died on the spot.

The suspect was later identified as Reymart, 27, a construction worker, and a resident of Barangay Sampaloc 1, Sariaya.

The suspect fled and the subject of a police manhunt.
