NU-Nazareth’s Alicia Villanueva, who registered 13 points and 10 rebounds, led the Filipinas' offensive rally which started in the second quarter and eventually took the fight out of the Indonesians to claim their third straight win in the three-day long tournament.
Tiffany Reyes, daughter of former PBA player Jay-R Reyes, backstopped her with nine points while Gabby Ramos and Aubrey Lapasaran put up eight apiece. Gilas skipper Ava Fajardo added seven.
The Nationals actually went on a lethargic shooting in the opening frame and only had a one possession lead to end the quarter, 14-11.
But they shifted their gears in the following period by unleashing a 16-4 blitz for a 35-19 lead which was enough to leave Indonesia in the dust.
Ratu Poedjakesuma topped the Indonesians with 10 points while Joanne Giovanni chipped in nine in a losing cause.
Gilas also toppled host Thailand (103-58) in the opener and crushed Malaysia (100-68) in its second game.
Next for the Filipinas is the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup Division B which opens next month in Shenzhen, China.
