2 cousins hack each other dead in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY – Two cousins hacked each other to death during an altercation in Barangay Masaling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental on Sunday, May 26.

Police identified the fatalities as Saturnino Angel, 42, and his cousin Reynaldo Onabia, 35.

Police Lt. Col. Gary Alan Resuma, Cauayan police chief, said that Onabia and Angel’s brother-in-law figured in a heated argument while they were having a drinking session.

To avoid escalating the conflict between them, Angel’s brother-in-law decided to go home.

Onabia got a bolo and knife and went to the house of Angel’s brother-in-law and challenged him. They were pacified by the wife of Angel brother-in-law.

Angel arrived and confronted Onabia.

Angel managed to take away one of Onabia's weapons and attacked each other.

They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
