TACLOBAN CITY - A 68-year-old woman was accidentally shot during a robbery attempt in a pawnshop in Barangay 14 here on Friday, May 24.

Reports disclosed that four armed men entered at gunpoint while the employees were busy attending to customers.
One of the suspects attempted to open the display case. However, the owner drew a short firearm and fired at the suspects, resulting in an exchange of fire.
The victim, who was just passing by, was accidentally hit by a stray bullet in her right thigh.
The suspects fled to an unknown direction and the victim was brought to the hospital.
The victim, a resident of Babatngon, Leyte, is in stable condition.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and manhunt operations.
