Police nab wanted man in Cagayan


CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police arrested a 37-year-old-man wanted for murder and other cases in Taguig City on Thursday, May 23, in Barangay Fula, Buguey, Cagayan.

Police Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Birung, Cagayan Valley police chief, identified the suspect as Jim, a member of the Alipio Group, a Potential Private Armed Group.

Jim was caught on a warrant issued by Judge Homer Jay Dumlao Ragonjan, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 24, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, for murder, illegal possession of firearms, and violation of Batas Pambansa 881 or the Omnibus Election Code.

Police said the suspect was arrested in Claveria, Cagayan in 2014 for his alleged involvement in a murder incident and violation of the Omnibus Election Code.

The suspect was the former leader of the Cabeza Gang in Cagayan involved in criminal activities. 

In 2004, Jim was jailed for a homicide case but freed under probation. 

The suspect is under the custody of the Regional Police Intelligence Operation Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 2 for proper documentation and disposition.

Birung commended police operatives for the successful arrest of the suspect.
