The Manila Police District (MPD) inaugurated a new building to serve all members of the Manila's Finest Retirees Association on Saturday, May 25.
A simple blessing ceremony marked the completion and opening of the office at the MPD Headquarters on United Nations Avenue in Malate.
The event was led by its newly elected president, former Maj. Bonifacio V. Aporo, with former MPD District Director Pedro Bulaong in attendance and Fifth district Congressman Irwin Tieng as guest of honor.
The new MPD building was named after Tieng who offered his full support for the renovation and improvement of the facility.

Aporo stated that as the new organization of retirees, he made a call on former officers and men to register and get listed to enjoy privileges that will soon be available among its members.
He said the benefits include free medical help, medicines, hospitalization, and even burial place.
Tieng he said that he will continue to support the retired police of MPD through his several outreach programs.
"Mula po ng bata ako, marami nang naitulong sa pamilya namin ang MPD lalo na nung nasunugan kami at hindi nila kami pinabayaan (Since I was a child, the MPD has helped our family a lot especially when we became fire victims. They did not abandon us)," Tieng said.
Meanwhile, former MPD chief Gen. Pedro Bulaong praised Tieng for sponsoring the senior citizen's bill among others.
"Sana po Cong Irwin balang araw lumawak ang sertbisyo mo hindi lang sa Fifth District kundi sa buong Maynila (I hope Cong Irwin, in the future, your service expands not only to the Fifth District but to the entire City of Manila)," Bulaong said.
