Bea Constantino, Miguel Vasquez's dream garden wedding

A love brewed over time

Miguel Vazquez, 36, the founder of Sulok Coffee, and Bea Constantino, 41, creative director of Mindanaoan heritage fashion brand Studio Sug and fashion stylist, have a love story that blossomed over their mutual love for coffee.

However, it took years before this happened. “No sparks were felt, and we didn’t even get each other’s contact details,” Bea told Manila Bulletin.

It wasn’t until 2022 that they reconnected, with their relationship growing organically through social media exchanges that led to their first coffee date. Eventually, they became a couple that same year and got engaged in June 2023.

On May 4, 2024, Miguel and Bea got married at Christ the King Church in Quezon City. The groom wore a custom white tuxedo by JE & Company, while the bride walked down the aisle in a silk organza bridal dress by Kamperett, layered over an embossed satin camisole bridal dress by Sassa Jimenez. Gorgeous accents included a wedding veil by Niko Hernandez and Balenciaga shoes.

The festivities continued at Palacio de Memoria in Parañaque. To complement the warm May weather and their preference for a relaxed, scenic, garden-party atmosphere, the clear tent was styled with colorful summer blooms by event stylist Gathered Creative Co. “Miguel and I are both laid back in terms of how we like to dress up and fix our spaces, so we aimed for a relaxed and comfortable celebration,” Bea added.

The day was made even more special with the participation of dear friends who are, coincidentally, wedding suppliers as well: videographer Jason Magbanua, photographer Artu Nepomuceno, and makeup artist Denise Ochoa.

Chef Margarita Fores curated a special menu featuring Mindanao flavors, honoring the couple's roots—Miguel hails from Cagayan de Oro, while Bea is from Zamboanga and Sulu—which the guests thoroughly enjoyed. DJ Ace Ramos turned up the beat for the after-party, with host and bridesmaid Gelli Victor keeping the energy high throughout the evening.

The couple is truly grateful for everyone who joined them that day, especially the entourage’s funny grand entrance that set the mood for the reception, and Bea’s brothers and Miguel’s father, whose heartfelt speeches touched many.
