The Bureau of Customs – Intelligence Group (BOC-IG) vowed to boost border security and inter-agency cooperation in the Visayas region.
At the recent 3rd Inter-Agency Intelligence Summit in Cebu, law enforcement officials from various agencies shared best practices and intelligence strategies.
Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration for effective border control.
Rubio also highlighted the need for professionals to work together to safeguard the country's frontiers and ensure a safer homeland for Filipinos.
Meanwhile, Office of the Presidential Assistant Undersecretary Terrence C. Calatrava reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhance customs security enforcement by leveraging expertise and resources.
He then stressed the importance of a united front in combating smuggling activities.
The summit covered customs jurisdiction, case development, intelligence's role in border management, and drug interdiction challenges.
Participants also engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing national security and border integrity.
Customs Deputy Commissioner Juvymax R. Uy expressed gratitude to all attendees for their contributions.
