The Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), in celebration of National Road Safety Month, launched the "Drayberks Alerto KadaKilometro" road safety campaign on May 15 at the Tas Trans Corporation in Las Piñas City.

A total of 50 bus drivers and MPT South government partners - the Toll Regulatory Board and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) - joined the campaign.

The MPT South said the road safety campaign promotes driver alertness and focus, emphasizing their critical role in safe driving.

During the launching, the MPT South introduced a challenging buzz-wire game designed to test participants' alertness by triggering the buzzer with one mistake as a momentary lapse in focus can lead to accidents or violations on the road.

The MPT South also said that the event served as a wellness day for the drivers.

The participants enjoyed wellness activities such as eye and basic health check-ups at the wellness booths provided by the Medical Center Imus.

The drivers were also provided with valuable insights on road safety.

In partnership with the Cavite State University (CVSU), the drivers were reminded of BLOWBAGETS, a vehicle maintenance checklist before hitting the road.

"Staying alert means always keeping your eyes peeled, being watchful for any potential dangers, and responding quickly to any shifts in traffic situations," said Raoul Ignacio, president and general manager of MPT South.

"This marks just the kick-off event of Alerto KadaKilometro campaign which will run throughout the year. At MPT South, we are not just in the business of toll roads but also committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all motorists who travel on CAVITEX and CALAX. Through initiatives like Alerto KadaKilometro, we aim to instill a culture of vigilance and responsibility among drivers that promotes safer roads for everyone," Ignacio added.
