The National Museum of the Philippines has released a limited edition beep card featuring Juan Luna's iconic work “Spoliarium” to mark the 140th anniversary of the masterpiece winning the first gold medal award at the Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes in Spain in 1884.
On Tuesday, May 21, the personnel of the museum showed the beep card to the public on its first day of availability.
According to the National Museum Employees’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative (NMEMPC), the beep card will be available in their museum shop located in Osmeña Hall on the second floor of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Ermita, Manila.
It added that people who visit the museum every Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. can purchase the card for P500, as it will only be available until supplies last.
Aside from the beep card, visitors can also purchase other products at the NMEMPC shop, including keychains, button pins, Spoliarium candies, refrigerator magnets, tote bags featuring Luna and Spoliarium images, T-shirts, mugs, watches, and ukuleles, among others.
It also added that the products will not be available online, as the museum also aims to get people to visit the museum.
