The Gilas standout transferred to Yokohama for the 2023-24 season on a loan from Hiroshima Dragonflies.
There, the 22-year-old import managed to prove himself in the Japanese league, even posting a career-high 28 points last March to make the most of his minutes matter.
Yokohama eventually finished 19th in the overall standings with a 24-36 card, with Thirdy Ravena’s San-En NeoPhoenix falling short in the quarterfinal after finishing as the third seed in the eliminations.
In his offseason, Sotto along with the rest of the Gilas 12 sans the injured Jamie Malonzo will be seeing action in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in July, with the slotman expected to dominate for the Nationals.
The Filipino import averaged 12.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game to help Yokahama in its campaign.
