Irah took to the public service program CIA with BA to complain about Junell’s inconsistent support of their two children.

In the ‘Case 2 Face’ segment of the episode on Sunday, May 19, the complainant shared, “Bale ngayong year po, dalawang beses ko na po siyang pina-VAWC.”

“Nagkaroon po kami ng kasunduan do’n na every month po, P6,000 po ‘yung ipapadala niya para sa mga bata,” she continued. “Siya po ‘yung nagbigay ng [amount].”

Irah also mentioned that the support started at P4,000 in 2019, but during the pandemic, Junell requested to pause the payments even though he had a job as a food delivery rider.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano explained the legal stance on such situations for everyone’s knowledge.

“May sinabi ang Supreme Court na ‘pag ika’y walang pera, ikaw ay mahirap, wala kang ibibigay, hindi naman para ikulong ‘yung hindi nagbibigay ng support… kasi hindi naman crime ang poverty, especially sa bansa na marami talagang mahirap,” he elaborated.

“Ang criminal offense is dalawa: willful infliction of psychological violence upon the woman and her child by denying them the financial support that is legally due them,” he continued. “So [let’s say], ilang buwan kang wala pero meron ka ngayon, pero hindi mo binigay, and it causes psychological violence against the woman and her child, criminal offense pa rin ‘yan.”

“‘Yung pangalawa is: For the purpose of controlling or restricting the woman or her child’s movement or conduct,” he said. “Meaning parang bina-blackmail mo. So especially kung ‘yung nanay at anak walang kapera-pera, [tapos] sinabi mo, ‘Sige ‘pag hindi ka pumunta dito or kung hindi mo gawin ‘to, iipitin ko ‘yung support,’ kasi dapat walang kapalit ‘yung support na ‘yon dahil obligasyon [‘yon] bilang ama,” he concluded.

In front of Alan, Pia Cayetano, Boy Abunda, and Irah, Junell pledged to be consistent with his financial support, agreeing to provide P4,000 every month. “Wala naman akong magagawa kung ‘yon lang talaga ang kaya niya,” Irah commented, which Ate Pia commended.

“Magandang attitude ‘yon. Kasi sabi naman ng batas, ang obligasyon magbigay ng suporta ay naaayon sa kakayanan ng nagbibigay, at sa pangangailangan,” she said.

“Kung hanggang saan ang kaya mong ibigay pero syempre kung kaya mong dagdagan ‘yung 4,000, okay sana ‘di ba? Pero ayusin mo ‘yung commitment mo. Kung kailangan ka pang habulin, pupwedeng ituring ‘yon na nananadya ka na,” Pia emphasized.

Kuya Alan added that the show is willing to help if Junell decides to take a vocational course through TESDA.

Along with P2,000 for a new delivery bag from the show, Tito Boy said he would give P9,000 for the monthly amortization of his motorcycle.
