CEBU CITY – More than P20-million worth of suspected shabu was seized in buy-bust operations in Metro Cebu on Sunday, May 19.

Operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Regional Intelligence Division seized 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu worth P10.4 million from a 48-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City past 10 p.m.
Police identified the suspect as Romelito Flores, considered as a high-value individual.
Flores was capable of disposing of 3,000 grams of shabu a week to his customers in various areas in Metro Cebu.
Police said the suspect would get his supply of illegal drugs from a certain “AR.”
Another 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu were seized from a 28-year-old man in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City shortly before 3 p.m.
Fatima Veraces, a resident of Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) and personnel of the Naval Forces Central and Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit.
An hour later, Veraces’ live-partner, William Lopez Jr., 32, was apprehended with 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million.
A follow-up operation that led to Lopez’s arrest was conducted in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
