MORE Power said residential consumers will pay P11.3263 per kWh for their May 18 to June 12 billing, compared to the P10.3062 per kWh in April.
The power company attributed the increase to the impact of the red and yellow alert status set by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) in Visayas and Luzon for the past two months, resulting in higher generation charges, taxes, and generation loss.
“While the transmission charge cost decreased, this reduction was offset by the rise in the average nodal prices of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), which went from P8.67/kWh to P11.85/kWh,” MORE Power added.
