Members of the Las Piñas City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) and the Station Intelligence Section (SIS) arrested a man wanted for frustrated murder and attempted homicide last May 17.
In a report to the Southern Police District (SPD), Las Piñas police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla identified the suspect as alias Romel, 48, who was listed as the Top 5 most wanted person for the month of May under the police district level.
Tafalla said Romel was nabbed at around 8:00 p.m. in Barangay Talon 3, Las Piñas City, by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Phoeve Castillo Meer of Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court Branch 275 on December 18, 2023, with a recommended bail o P200,000 for the crime of frustrated murder.
Romel also has another warrant of arrest issued by Judge Aida Dacara Coliflores Romero of Las Piñas City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 122 on January 3, 2024, with a recommended bail of P 36,000 for attempted homicide.
The suspect is currently in police custody pending further legal proceedings.
