Driver killed, family of 5 hurt in road crash

CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur – A farmer died and five family members were injured when their motor vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier in Barangay Codoog, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur on Sunday, May 19.

Police identified the victim as Crisanto Supnet, 49, driver and resident of Barangay Marozo, Narvacan.

Investigation disclosed that Supnet lost control of the vehicle and rammed the barrier.  He and his passengers, wife Arcelli, 40; Jovanie, 15; Darell, 13; Ferlishell, 9; and Marbell, 8, sprawled on the ground. 

They were taken to a hospital where Crisanto was declared dead due to a chest injury. His family sustained minor injuries. 

Police said Crisanto was reportedly drunk when they crashed.
