Deniece Cornejo posts Bible verses following court sentence

Former model Deniece Cornejo took to social media to share Bible verses in what seemed to be her initial reaction to the court ruling of the Taguig Regional Trial Court on May 2.

On Facebook, Deniece uploaded an art card bearing the Bible verse from Exodus 14:14: "The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still."

On Instagram story, she posted a picture that resembled a letter written to herself.

"Dear Deniece, you have fought the good fight with faith. Not everyone knows what you are going through behind closed doors, but you face it with courage and love. You will rise like an eagle in God's perfect time," she wrote.

Deniece also shared the Biblical passage from Matthew 10:28: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

The court convicted Deniece, businessman Cedric Lee, and two others of serious illegal detention for ransom in the case filed by actor-television host Vhong Navarro.

They can still file an appeal against the court's decision.
