The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, May 19, forecasted that Science Garden in Quezon City may experience a heat index of 43 degrees Celsius (°C) on May 20.

This heat index falls under the "danger" classification, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely.
"Heat stroke is probable with continued exposure," PAGASA said.
The highest recorded heat index in the country since 2024 was 53°C in Iba, Zambales on April 18.

In Metro Manila, the highest recorded heat index was 46°C at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City on April 24.
Quezon City is among 38 areas that may experience a "dangerous" heat index.
Meanwhile, Sangley Point in Cavite; Virac (Synop) in Catanduanes; Roxas City in Capiz; and Catarman in Northern Samar may experience the highest heat index, potentially reaching 46°C on Monday.
