Actors Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu, collectively known as KimPau, are grateful to their fans who supported their tandem in their two successful projects.

Fans have cheered for Paulo and Kim in 'Linlang' and 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?', which will be available on free TV starting May 25.

During an interview at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City, Paulo urged fans to remain calm as they pushed both stars to take their relationship to the next level.

"I get where they are coming from. Hinay-hinay lang. Kim just came from a relationship, so hayaan muna natin mag-enjoy yung mga tao and give them time to explore," the actor said.

(I understand where they are coming from. Let's take it slowly. Kim just came from a relationship, so let the people enjoy our tandem and give them time to explore.)

In December 2023, Kim confirmed that she and longtime partner Xian Lim have called it quits.

Kim thanked fans who are pushing for the KimPau love team.

"Tama naman na enjoy na muna natin yung ngayon kung napapasaya naman namin sila. Thankful kami sa suporta nila, mag trend sa mga episodes, so masaya kami na napapasaya namin sila," she said.

(It's fitting that we should enjoy the moment if we make them happy. We are grateful for their support in trending the episodes. We're touched that we can make them happy.)

However, Paulo admitted that he is uncomfortable being labeled as part of a love team.

"To be honest, hindi," said Paulo when asked if he was comfortable with the love team tag. "Kinuwento nga ng producers namin na hindi alam sa ibang bansa kung ano ang love team. I'd rather have it called a tandem or on-screen partner dahil ayoko yung stigma na nadidikit sa Pilipinas when it comes to love teams.

(To be honest, no. Our producers informed us that other countries are not aware of what a love team is. I'd rather have it called a tandem or on-screen partner.)

Kim said: "Kami naman nasa tamang age na rin kung ano ang dapat namin gawin at kung ano ang magiging path namin sa showbiz." (We are at the right age for what we should do and what our path will be in showbiz.)

But don't get Paulo wrong. He stressed that their fans are very important to him and Kim.

"Sila ang reason why we're trending. We appreciate their tweets; they always discuss us on social media," the hunk actor said.

In the same interview, Kim was asked about a wish for Paulo, who celebrated his birthday last May 13.

"Peace of mind," she said.

After working on several projects, Kim said she had learned many things from Paulo.

"Hindi ko pa naman siya kilalang kilala. Ilang beses ko na pa lang siyang nakatrabaho. Nagkataon na nagkasunod lang yung projects namin. Hindi naman talaga kami close noon pero ngayon lang kami nagkakilala," she said.

(I don't know him well yet. I've only worked with him a few times. It just happened that our projects happened to follow each other. We weren't close before but have just become friends now.)

Paulo added: "Same din naman. Habang tumatagal doon mo naman nakikilala 'yung tao. So far, sa nakikita ko naman kay Kim, mabait naman siyang tao."

Paulo and Kim also shared what they have discovered from each other other while working on "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?"

"Nakakatawa siya. Siguro pag-sobrang bubbly din siya sasabog na kaming dalawa," said Kim when asked about Paulo.

"Everytime na nakaka trabaho ko siya may bago akong nadidiscover. Yung latest na nadiscover ko is galante siya," said Paulo about Kim.

Kim stated that Paulo is more generous than she is.

"Mas galante siya. Grabe siya mamigay ng regalo sa staff. Pero wala pa naman akong natatanggap. Na-witness ko yun sa Secretary Kim, akala ko char lang. Grabe! Galante talaga siya at binibigay niya kung ano yung deserve ng tao," Kim also said.

(He is more generous. He is very good at giving gifts to the staff. But I haven't received anything yet. I witnessed that on the set of 'Secretary Kim.' I thought it was just a rumor. It's great! He is really generous and he gives what people deserve.)

What's next after Secretary Kim?

"Ang alam ko merong niluluto pero hindi pa rin ako 100 percent sure. Surprise muna!" Paulo revealed.
