The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 38 areas may still experience a heat index that is considered “dangerous” on Monday, May 20.
PAGASA said the heat index in Sangley Point, Cavite; Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; Roxas City, Capiz; and Catarman, Northern Samar may reach 46°C and may reach 45°C in Iba, Zambales; Legazpi City, Albay; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
Meanwhile, Casiguran, Aurora; Cubi Pt., Subic Bay Olongapo City; Ambulong, Tanauan Batangas; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Masbate City, Masbate; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Dumangas, Iloilo; and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur may experience a 44°C heat index.
A 43°C heat index may also be experienced in Science Garden Quezon City, Metro Manila; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; ISU Echague, Isabela; Coron, Palawan; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Cuyo, Palawan; Mambusao, Capiz; Catbalogan, Samar; and Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte.
PAGASA added that Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Bacnotan, La Union; Aparri, Cagayan; CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Baler (Radar), Aurora; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Aborlan, Palawan; CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur; Panglao International Airport, Bohol; Tacloban City, Leyte; Borongan, Eastern Samar; Davao City, Davao Del Sur; and Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte may have a heat index of 42°C.
