Sexagenarians hacked to death in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Two senior citizens were allegedly hacked to death by their 24-year-old neighbor in Sitio Magtanga, Barangay Wagod, Pinukpuk, Kalinga on May 16.

Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, Kalinga police spokesperson, identified the victims as Ruben Dangiwan, 65, and his wife, Apolonia, 63.

Investigation said Ruben accused the suspect Pedro of having an affair with his wife following a drinking session.

The suspect was irked and hacked the victims with a bolo multiple times.

The victims died on the spot from 24 hack wounds – Ruben with 11 and Apolonia with 13.

The suspect went home but was surrendered to the police by his father.

Manganip said the suspect is facing a double murder case.
