MPD seizes over P4.7-M shabu from woman in Manila buy-bust 


The Manila Police District (MPD) reported on Saturday, May 18, the arrest of a 30-year-old woman and confiscation of P4,760,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Farida”, a resident of Recto Avenue, in Manila.  

The suspect was arrested at the corner of Soler Street and Rizal Avenue in Sta. Cruz during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of MPD Station 11.

Police confiscated from her two sachets and two knot-tied transparent plastic ice bags containing suspected shabu weighing about 700 grams, a P1,000 bill and 54 fake bills used as buy-bust money.

Police said that the suspect was involved in large-scale drug transactions in the areas of Binondo and Sta. Cruz.

The arrested suspect is now detained at MPD Station 11 and facing charges for violations of Sec. 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Authorities said they are investigating the source of the large amount of drugs confiscated from the suspect.
