TACLOBAN CITY – Cash, shabu, and guns were seized from four men in a checkpoint in Barangay Cristina, Calubian, Leyte on Friday, May 17.

The suspects were aged 20, 27, 32, and 42, and residents of Villaba in the third district of Leyte.
The 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company received information about a suspicious red multi-purpose vehicle with four men and mismatched plates on their way to the town center from the northern part of Calubian.
The commander of the 2nd LPMFC coordinated with the Calubian Municipal Police Station and set up a checkpoint in Barangay Cristina.
Police flagged down the vehicle and asked the driver to present his license and car registration which he failed to present.
Lawmen saw a suspect seated on the right backseat with a bulky object on his waist and an unzipped rifle bag containing a long rifle in plain sight in front of him.
Police ordered the suspects to exit the vehicle for further verification and thorough search.
A body search led to the discovery of a caliber .45 pistol on one of the suspects identified as Christian Baay.
Authorities also found three more caliber .45 pistols with magazines and ammunition, two Bushmaster rifles, 36 transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 40 grams of suspected shabu valued at P240,000, drug paraphernalia, and P97,000 cash.
The suspects and the confiscated drugs will undergo drug testing and chemical analysis and the seized firearms and ammunition will be subjected to ballistic examination and verification.
