Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said the victim was identified by his brother as Joemund Espartero, 36, of Barangay Cabatangan.
Benoman said the victim, whose body was concealed in a sack, was discovered by a Bantay Bukid volunteer due to foul odor.
The victim sustained a bullet wound in the head and police believe that the victim was killed somewhere and dumped in the area.
Benoman said the victim was last seen alive on May 12 when he left his house. Police said his family did not report him missing since that day because he would reportedly often leave their house for days and later come back.
Motive is yet to be determined but police are eyeing more than two suspects in the incident.
