San Juan LGU launches tourism theme song writing contest
The San Juan City government launched on Friday, May 17, its tourism theme song writing contest and urged Filipinos to show their creativity and musical prowess in creating a new tourism theme song for the city.



Dubbed as the Lungsod Lunsad Sounds & Sights of the Streets: Musician & Artist Showdown, the contest aims to boost the San Juan City's rich culture and heritage as well as its tourist attractions.
Winners of the contest will win:
1st Place – P200,000
2nd Place – P150,000
3rd Place – P100,000
Most viewed Video (on Facebook) – P20,000
Most liked Video (on Facebook) – P15,000
Most shared Video (on Facebook) – P15,000
Aside from the cash prize, the winner of the competition will also get to feature their composition in a music video.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said the announcement of winners will be on June 24 during the Wattah Wattah San Juan Festival.
He also urged the public to check his official Facebook page for the full mechanics and criteria of the competition.
In June of last year, the city government launched a photo and video contest aimed at showcasing some of the city's historical sites and monuments that have a big part in achieving the country's independence.
Dubbed as the Makabagong San Juan - Pinaglabanan Shrine Photo and Video Contest, the contest tasks participants to take photos and videos of the newly relocated monuments of Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Jacinto, Jose Rizal, and the Spirit of Pinaglabanan in the shrine as well as the El Deposito Underground Water Reservoir.
Mapua Malayan Colleges, Laguna Multimedia Arts student Nico Binwag won the contest.
