The National Identification (ID) system now permits the updating or correction of key information, but this service is only available at specific Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) offices.
In a statement on Friday, May 17, the PSA said that it began the gradual rollout of updating services for demographic information in the National ID system in specific provinces.
PSA said the updating services provide individuals with the opportunity to modify or rectify demographic details stored in their National ID.
These include but are not limited to name, marital status, gender, date or place of birth, address, blood type, and any clerical or typographical mistakes.
Currently, the updating services are accessible through 38 PSA Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) in specific provinces.

“We want every registered person to be able to use their National IDs bearing accurate information fully,” PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa said.
“Through the pilot implementation, we shall ensure the PSA’s preparedness to provide updating services before its launch nationwide,” he added.
