Market collector, 2 construction workers shot dead in Bulacan

A market collector and two construction workers were killed in separate shooting incidents in the towns of Bocaue and Pandi in Bulacan province on Wednesday, May 15.

In reports submitted to Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, the Bocaue market collector was identified as  Alona Oliveros, 35, married, of Bernardo compound in Barangay Caingin.

She was shot twice in the head by an unidentified assailant who was riding a motorcycle on Wednesday afternoon after getting off a tricycle she was riding on. After the shooting, the unidentified suspects stole the victim's bag which contained money. Probers said theft is the possible motive of the killing.

Meanwhile, in the town of Pandi, the two slain construction workers were identified as Jairus Lao, 39, a native of Quezon City, of Block 29, Lot 3, Padre Pio, Barangay Cacarong De Sili, Pandi, and Khalil Dimaporo, 27, of Block 59, Lot 30, also of Padre Pio.

Police investigators said the victims were shot dead past 5:00 p.m. by four suspects.

Witnesses said one of the suspects was a certain Jayson Bungay. His cohorts were identified as alias Ali and Austria and one who remained unidentified.

Police believe that the shooting  incidents were related to drugs because five plastic sachets of shabu were found in the pocket of Jairus, while one plastic sachet of shabu was found in Khalil.
