Tony Stark, the genius inventor and billionaire industrialist, has made waves yet again after a much-anticipated appearance during the Stark Expo in Hong Kong. Visiting in his full Iron Man getup, the hero was spotted greeting guests and excited fans throughout Hong Kong Disneyland’s Tomorrowland where Stark Expo is located. 

Stark Expo’s main attraction is the Iron Wing ride, which allows guests to have a bird’s eye view of Hong Kong’s beautiful sights. It’s an exciting ride that lets anyone feel the daily excitement of being Iron Man. All went by smoothly until the evil Hydra organization, led by Dr. Arnim Zola, tried to attack the city with robots. Fortunately, Iron Man was quick to arrive on the scene and save the day.

Dr. Zola’s attempts at hijacking Tomorrowland, however, didn’t stop there. Throughout the day, Hydra agents tried to take over the area. Just across the Iron Wing ride, the Hydra organization tried to hack into the S.H.I.E.L.D. Science and Technology Pavilion. We boarded the Dagger vehicle that allowed us to shrink down and fight off the evil swarm-bots alongside Ant-Man and The Wasp. It was fun shooting down the targets as a scoreboard took track of how many bots we neutralized. Hydra didn’t stop there as during a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent demonstration, Hydra agents swarmed in to attack. Fortunately, the demonstration of self-defense techniques helped us audience members keep the invaders at bay until backup arrived. Iron Man and his fellow Avengers—Captain Marvel, Star-Lord, Gamora, Spider-Man, and Thor—came to save the day.

With all the excitement stirring about, it was a treat to find the Starliner Diner had some meals and refreshments prepared for us. My personal favorite was the Iron Man Burger Combo, a filling meal that paired well with the Marvel-themed drinks that were served. Guests who intend to stay overnight at the Disneyland Hollywood Hotel can enjoy more Marvel–themed food at The Archivist restaurant. Starting Aug. 9, a Marvel-themed room will also be available for all the superhero fans out there. 

Just when we thought the day was over, moments before we were set to leave Tomorrowland to witness the Momentous lights and fireworks show, Zola and his Hydra goons returned once again to give one last big fight. Zola’s goons managed to take over Stark Expo’s screens and display the Hydra symbol as the park went dark. All of a sudden, a swarm of drones took to the night sky and brandished the mark of Hydra. Once again, Iron Man had to swarm in to save the day along with more fellow Avengers to save the day. This time around, the action was full-on as fireworks and lights went off at a quick pace. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Hydra agents went toe-to-toe against one another. Finally, with the help of the crowd each of the Avengers heroes present used their efforts to put a stop to Zola and his goons. A highlight of the night was the crowd following Dr. Strange’s instructions to create a powerful force that could take over Zola’s Hydra drones. In the end, the heroes reigned triumphant and those of us in the crowd were treated to a magnificent spectacle as the drones flashed the symbols of each hero present. The Avengers symbol was shown last to cement the heroes’ victory.
