Teenage boy arrested for raping minor in Agusan del Sur

BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested a 17-year-old teenage boy for allegedly raping a minor in Trento, Agusan del Sur.

Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office (PRO 13-RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said the suspect, alias Empoy, was nabbed by the Trento Municipal Police Station (MPS) and 2nd Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Empoy was arrested on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 55, Trento dated May 6, 2024. No bail was recommended for the suspect.

Investigation said the suspect allegedly raped the victim on May 11, 2022.

The PRO-13 attributed the arrest of the suspect to their intensified anti-criminality campaign which include the accounting of most wanted persons.

“Our crime prevention efforts continue to increase public awareness and highlight the cooperation of the people,” it said.
