The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released more than P7.6 billion to cover the mid-year bonus of its 228,893 active duty personnel.
The allocated fund amounting to P7,629,893,993.00, was derived from the regular PNP appropriations included in this year's budget.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil said the mid-year bonus for all police personnel has been credited to the ATM Payroll accounts of eligible personnel on Wednesday, May 15, and is equivalent to a one-month basic pay.
“This bonus reflects the government’s appreciation for the relentless dedication of our men and women in uniform. It underscores their pivotal role in upholding peace and security nationwide,” said Marbil.
The mid-year bonus is a mandated benefit outlined in the annual General Appropriations Act that serves as an additional form of compensation for qualified personnel.
However, personnel who have pending cases or are undergoing punishment will not receive the bonus in accordance with the disciplinary policy of the police organization.
