PBBM talks with MVP to resolve C. de Oro water supply cutoff
President Marcos bared that he has talked with business tycoon Manny Pangilinan on the current water problem in Cagayan de Oro after the latter's firm cut off its supply to the local water district over a disputed debt.

Marcos disclosed that Pangilinan, who controls Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Incorporated (COBI), agreed to discuss the matter with the local government to solve the water shortage, which has affected 13 villages or over 60,000 residents when the water supply was cut off on May 14.
I am aware about the problem the city is facing now over water supply, and it's the talk of the town. So, when I learned about it, I talked with Mr. Manny Pangilinan of the Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water to bring the water supply back while we are trying to find a long-term solution for this problem)," Marcos said on Thursday, May 16.
"Pumayag po si Mr. Pangilinan sa ating pakiusap at handa po siyang makipag pulong sa inyong alkalde upang matuldukan na ang suliraning ito at mabigyan ng kinakailangang tubig ang lagpas animnapung libong kababayan dito sa CDO (Mr. Pangilinan agreed to our plea and he us ready to meet with your mayor in order to put an end to this problem and provide water supply to over 60,000 residents)," Marcos added.
The President mentioned this in his speech during the distribution of assistance to El Niño-hit provinces in Cagayan de Oro.
Marcos further said that he has directed the Local Water Utilities Administration to study the possible management of the Cagayan de Oro Water District in order to resolve the water crisis in the city.
Not only on the supply of water but also on determining the appropriate water rate and to fulfill its obligations to the consumers and suppliers)," he said.
We will not let the people of Cagayan de Oro be deprived of enough, clean, and safe supply of water)," he added.
