MPD hunts down man who shot dead drinking buddy in Tondo

Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) are hunting down a man who shot his drinking buddy to death in Tondo, Manila on Wednesday morning, May 15.

MPD identified the suspect as alias “Buboy”.

According to the police investigation, the victim, Jonathan Santos, had a drinking session with the suspect and three others on railroad tracks in Barangay 152, Tondo, at around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

In closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from Barangay 152, the suspect was seen shooting the victim in the head with an unknown caliber of gun.

The suspect immediately fled, while authorities recovered two fired cartridge cases at the crime scene.

MPD Homicide Section Chief Dennis Turla said that they are still investigating the motive behind the killing.

MPD said a follow-up operation is ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect.
