Marcos: Promote local products on social media via selfie photos
Take a selfie with your products and post it on social media.

President Marcos encouraged the public to promote their local products which would also help the country's micro-, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"Dito sa Iligan, alam kong sikat na pasalubong ang toasted peanut at palapa. Kaya kung mayroon kayong dala diyan, picturan Ninyo. Mag-selfie kayo kasama ng produkto tapos i-post ninyo sa social media (Here in Iligan, I know toasted peanut and palapa are popular. So, if you have it now, take a picture of it. Take a selfie with it and post it on social media ," Marcos said.
In his speech during the distribution of assistance to El Niño-affected farmers and fisherfolk in Iligan City on Thursday, May 16, the President stressed how social media can effectively help in promoting local products and small businesses, especially in this digital age.
He further said that a simple post of one’s product, or the country’s tourist attraction reaches a wider audience on social media.
“Simpleng bagay lang, pero napakalaking tulong niyan upang makilala at maipagmalaki ang inyong mga produkto at inyong lugar, lalo na at usong-uso ngayon ang social media sa karamihan sa atin ngayon (That's a simple thing but it's already a huge help to introduce and promote your local products, especially now that the social media is so popular),” he said.
During his visit in Iligan, Marcos led the distribution of a P168.82-million financial assistance and extended various government assistance to fisherfolk and farmers in Northern Mindanao.
Of the figure, P50 million each was distributed to the local governments of Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental; P24.36 million to Misamis Occidental; P13.92 million to Lanao del Norte; P10.54 to Iligan City and P10 million each to Cagayan de Oro City and Camiguin.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also provided P10,000 in financial assistance to each of the 9,588 beneficiaries in Iligan City and 10,000 target beneficiaries in Cagayan de Oro City through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations Program.
