ILOILO CITY – The Department of Tourism-6 donated eight electric tricycles for key government institutions that provide pivotal services to tourists and people in the world-famous Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan.

Among the recipients were the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-CENRO Boracay, the Ciriaco S. Tirol Memorial Hospital, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and Barangays Manoc-Manoc and Yapak.
DOT-6 Director Crisanta “Krisma” Marlene P. Rodriguez said these e-trike will benefit the island.
“The goal is clear. These e-trikes are to better the tourism industry in Boracay and ensure a great experience for visitors, aligning with global standards of sustainability and community welfare,” said Rodriguez.
The DOT-6 initiative is part of promoting environmentally-friendly transportation for tourism destinations.
