A total of 88 children from Barangay Catmon and Tonsuya received polio vaccines from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Malabon Chapter on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 14 to 15.

The PRC-Malabon Chapter collaborated with the city government and super health centers in these barangays.
The Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) is under the “Chikiting Ligtas Campaign” of the Department of Health (DOH), World Health Organization (WHO), and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It is a nationwide supplemental immunization campaign to administer vaccines against measles, rubella, and polio.

PRC-Malabon Chairman Ricky Sandoval, together with the 30 Red Cross volunteers, conducted house-to-house vaccination to children one and a half months to 23 months or nearly two years old.

"Sama-sama pong nakilahok ang mga cute at matatapang na chikitings ng Barangay Catmon kasama ang kanilang mga magulang sa ginanap na Chikiting Ligtas Campaign. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta at tumulong sa aktibidad na ito, lalo na sa Malabon City Health Office na patuloy sa pag-aalaga ng kalusugan ng mga batang Malabuenos (The brave children of Barangay Catmon, along with their parents, actively participated in the Chikiting Ligtas Campaign. Many thanks to everyone who supported and helped in this activity, especially the Malabon City Health Office, which continues to care for the health of the children of Malabon),” Sandoval said.
