From botanical prints and linen pieces to chic casualwear, let these items inspire you to have more adventures under the sun

When it comes to dressing for a tropical setting, what people should keep in mind are the basics, materials, colors, and function. A piece must have both style and purpose in every stitch, allowing everyone to be at ease while they are out for adventure. The thing is, finding the right pieces that accommodate both can be a challenge. So to help us out this season of sweltering heat, beloved clothing brand Marks and Spencer unveils its latest collection that’s all about bold prints, vibrant hues, and exceptional comfort.

To put these pieces to the test, the brand presented its “Summer by M&S” line through a runway show with the picturesque scenery of Taal in Batangas as its backdrop. This season's lineup was a celebration of shimmer, modern tailoring, and effortless elegance. Below are some of the style codes we saw on the runway.

Cool shades

Summer season is all about colors and prints. For Marks and Spencer’s latest collection, the majority of its pieces played with a color story that mimics the sea. Breezy dresses to flowing maxi slip skirts in tropical greens, space blues, and power pastels graced the runway. While rich indigo tones and calming sage greens are introduced with botanical motifs.

Refreshed basics

Preppy becomes more laid-back with its offering of button-through knits, revere jersey polos, and coordinated sets for men. Its women’s line, on the other hand, reimagined casualwear through a mix of A-line pleat shorts and cutwork dresses.

Elevated swimwear

For its holiday wear, the brand invites the ladies to have more moments under the sun with its swimsuits, flattering bikinis, linen cover-ups, and versatile holiday bags. Innovative swim shorts imbued with its Quick Dry technology are for the gents wanting to ride the waves. The brand’s cotton-rich bucket hats and chunky acetate sunglasses with UV protection will defintiely add a cool factor to these beach ‘fits.
