Scattered rain showers to affect eastern part of northern Luzon
The shear line, a weather system formed by the collision of cold and warm air, may bring rains over the eastern section of northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, May 15.
PAGASA said cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms may affect Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
Those in these areas were warned of flash floods or landslides that could occur during moderate to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will continue to have hot and humid weather until noon, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening, due to easterlies.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said rain showers and thunderstorms usually last up to two hours.
The increased frequency of rain showers or thunderstorms signals the impending start of the rainy season in the country.
Badrina added that PAGASA still does not see any weather disturbances that could affect the country until the end of this week.
