Bet collector shot dead in Silay City carnival

BACOLOD CITY – A bet collector was shot dead during a misunderstanding with a bettor in a fun fair in Barangay Guimbala-on, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, May 15.

Police identified the fatality as Allan Tamparong, 34, of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay police chief, said that suspect Pedrito Penafiel was playing a game when he reportedly figured in a heated argument with the victim due to bets. 

The suspect allegedly shot the victim and fled.

The victim was found lifeless in the area with multiple bullet wounds. Investigation is ongoing.
