Widow hacked dead in Quezon

MAUBAN, Quezon – A 66-year-old widow was found dead with hack wounds in Barangay San Jose here on Monday afternoon, May 13.

Police identified the victim as Menita Piel.

Barangay Captain Carlito Alpajora reported to police that the victim was found in a forested far-flung area.

Piel’s right arm was mutilated and she had stab wounds in the abdomen and right leg and her body was decomposing when it was found.

The family of the victim refused to bring her body to the town proper due to the terrain and difficulty returning to their home due to darkness and safety concerns.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
