Teenage girl's body found in Tanauan City park

TANAUAN CITY, Batangas – The body of a 16-year-old girl was found in a park in Barangay Darasa here on Monday night, May 13.

Police identified the victim as Rhean Lopez, single, helper, and a resident of Poblacion, Malvar, Batangas.

Investigation showed that the victim went missing and her mother was able to track the cellphone number of her daughter.

She sought help from officials of Barangay Darasa who searched for the victim who was found sprawled at Soledad Park with her underwear missing.

Meanwhile, a Bangladesh national was gunned down in Barangay San Antonio, San Pascual, Batangas on Monday night.

Police identified the victim as Nowyed Azim, 35, a resident of Lipa City, Batangas.

Azim was driving his electric bike towards Bauan, Batangas when two men onboard a motorcycle and wearing full-face helmets and jackets appeared and shot him.

The suspects fled toward the direction of Batangas City and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead from bullet wounds.

Police are conducting follow-up investigations on both cases.
