Police arrest laborer wanted for rape in La Union

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Police arrested the seventh most wanted person in the Ilocos region on Monday, May 13.

The suspect, a 43-year-old married construction worker from Barangay Santa Barbara, Agoo, La Union, was caught in Barangay Macalva, Agoo on a warrant of arrest for qualified rape dated April 16, 2024 issued by Presiding Judge Romeo Maglaya Atillo Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 31, Agoo.

No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom.

The suspect was taken to the Agoo police station for processing before turn over to the court.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Enhanced e-Warrant and National Police Clearance System confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Police Regional Office 1 chief, commended the Agoo police for the arrest of the suspect.
