Muntinlupa skilled worker Quides wins 2nd place in 'Pambansang Idol 2024'
A skilled worker from Muntinlupa won in the “Pambansang Idol: Huwarang Manggagawa 2024” search.
Clementino “Bong” Quides Jr., a materials inspector at Tri-Phil International Inc., bagged second place in the search.
The “Pambansang Idol: Huwarang Manggagawa 2024” was “created to recognize and highlight the good moral values and selfless contributions of Filipino skilled workers for others to exemplify and take inspiration from,” according to a video by the search organizer.

It is the “most comprehensive nationwide program for skilled workers in the country” and “highlights the vital role of skilled workers as heroes to their families and peers and how they are able to impact the community through their means and dedications, especially in this challenging time.”
The criteria for judging were: Relevance (35 percent), story relates to skilled workers community/industry; engaging content (34 percent), acts of heroism, valuable achievement/sustainable contribution to the community; and story impact (30 percent), recognizable effect on skilled workers' community, industry, with or without citation.
Quides is a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa and has been working for Tri-Phil International Inc. for 15 years. He started as an operator and became a cutter operator handling a whole line before being promoted as a materials inspector.
He has received numerous awards from the company including model employee, perfect attendance awardee, loyalty awardee, at care values champion.
As a second place winner in the search, Quides won P50,000, a Kress Nautica Gasoline Engine worth P30,000, trophy and certificate.
The Muntinlupa City government congratulated Quides for his win.
