'Ito ang ating pushback': Trillanes files libel raps vs Roque and others

Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillianes IV has filed libel and cyber libel charges against former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, reporters of a news outlet, a vlogger, and seven pro-Duterte social media accounts.

Trillanes lodged his complaints against them at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, May 14, for allegedly spreading fake news on social media against him.

In his X (formerly Twitter) post, Trillanes says, “Ngayong araw na ito, tayo po ay nagsampa ng kasong libel at cyberlibel sa Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office at sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) laban kina Atty. Harry Roque, vlogger Banat By, mga hosts ng SMNI, at mga pro-Duterte trolls na patuloy na nagkakalat ng fake news sa iba’t ibang social media platforms laban sa akin (Today, we filed libel and cyberlibel cases at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against Atty. Harry Roque, vlogger Banat By, hosts of SMNI, and pro-Duterte trolls who continue to spread fake news on various social media platforms against me).”

“Kasama sa mga troll accounts na ating sinampahan ng kaso sa NBI ay ang Mr. Realtalker o Lods Chinito (@chinorealtalker at @chinotisoy01), Melagin Nastor Evangelista o Catastrophe (@gurlbehindthisb), JoeLas (@j_laspinas), Michael Gorre o KampilaBoy (@KampilanBoy), Hampaslupang Mandaragat (@JohnAmasa2), at @SaraAll2028 (Among the troll accounts we filed a case against at the NBI are Mr. Realtalker or Lods Chinito (@chinorealtalker and @chinotisoy01), Melagin Nastor Evangelista or Catastrophe (@gurlbehindthisb), JoeLas (@j_laspinas), Michael Gorre or KampilaBoy (@KampilanBoy), Hampaslupang Mandaragat (@JohnAmasa2), and @SaraAll2028),” he added.

Trillanes said he filed the charges against the said individuals for persistently attacking him online with false accusations.

“Ito ang ating pushback sa kanilang pagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon at mga pekeng balita laban sa akin. Kaya ngayon nakikita natin na sa panahong ito ay maaari na nating makuha ang katarungan, isang bagay na hindi natin inaasahan noong panahon ni Duterte, kaya naisipan natin na ifile ito ngayon (This is our pushback for spreading false information and fake news against me. So now we see that at this time, we can finally obtain justice, something we didn't expect during Duterte's time, which is why we decided to file it now),” he said in an interview.
