Filipino-American sprinter Eric Cray is thrilled to see rising track stars who could carry the torch for the Philippine athletics team and bring home medals from big competitions abroad.

The 35-year-old Cray, a national record holder in men's century dash and 400-meter hurdles, expressed his excitement on the potential of the young athletes who competed at the National Open.
“It’s great to see the growth of our sport, and it’s always good to see it progressing with the new people, the younger kids, it’s always a beautiful thing,” said Cray.
“I’m very excited for the future of Philippine track and field,” added Cray, who took the gold in the 400m hurdles and was part of the winning 4x100m team.
Cray vowed to continue his Paris bid with his six remaining competitions before the deadline ends on June 30.
"For sure I wanna hit the Paris mark and I'll do my best to qualify again," he concluded.
