Man arrested for illegal possession of firearm in Pasay City

A man tagged by the police as a notorious thief was arrested by patrolling members of the Pasay City Police Substation 4 for illegal possession of firearm on Monday, May 13.
Pasay City police chief Col.Mario Mayames reported to the Southern Police District (SPD) the arrest of alias Jeff, 48, a member of Batang City Jail, at around 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of EDSA and L.Wood St. in Barangay 144, Pasay City.
Mayames said the suspect was listed in police gallery as notorious criminal due to his alleged involvement in various criminal activities.
He said the suspect was about to victimize a passerby when he sensed the presence of patrolling policemen in the area.
He tried to run away, but the policemen immediately chased him, leading to his arrest. Seized from him was a .38-caliber revolver loaded with five live ammunition.
The arrested suspect was brought to the police custodial facility and charged with illegal possession of firearm.
