Seven 'drug pushers' nabbed in Zambo City's biggest drug operation escape 10 days after arrest
Seven suspected big-time drug pushers escaped from jail 10 days after their arrest in an anti-illegal drugs operation which authorities described as the biggest drug haul in Zamboanga region.
A report reaching Camp Crame in Quezon City stated that the inmates were able to escape by making a tiny hole above the ceiling of their detention cell at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Upper Calarian in Zamboanga City.
The jailbreak was discovered at 2:45 a.m.
Those who escaped were identified as Wilson Indanan Sahiban, of Indanan, Sulu; Junjimar Hajili Aiyob, 29, of Upper Patibulan, Panamao, Sulu; Jimmy Angeles Sahibol, 30, of Zamboanga City; Kerwin Mohammad Abdilla, 41, of Zamboanga City; Albadir Mala Ajijul, 28, of Isabela City, Basilan; Muhajiran Romeo Jumlah, 2, of Zamboanga City; and, Amil Khan Mahadali Abubasar, 26, also from Zamboanga City.
“The escapees are among the arrested suspects during a buy-bust operation conducted on May 3, in Barangay Mampang, Zamboanga City. The operation was declared by the PDEA as the biggest drug haul in Zamboanga Peninsula in recent years,” the police report read.
That operation resulted in the confiscation of 21 kilos of suspected shabu with a street value of P145.5 million.
Both the PDEA and the PNP deployed tracker teams to recapture the inmates.
