Senior citizen dies after being hit by motorcycle in Tondo

A senior citizen died after being hit by a motorcycle in Tondo, Manila on Sunday evening, May 12.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victim as Nido Benjamin.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at 9:25 p.m. along Capulong Highway.

Based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV), the victim was already crossing the road when the motorcycle driver, identified as Marky Dustine Fulinara, suddenly appeared along the eastbound lane and accidentally hit the victim.

Due to strong impact, the motorcycle fell on the pavement causing injuries to both the rider and his passenger.

They were brought to Tondo General Hospital for treatment. Benjamin was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said they are still conducting an in-depth investigation of the incident.
