President Marcos attended the Second Quarter Command Conference of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) where he was briefed on its activities and proposed projects that help in its job of protecting the country’s sovereignty.

Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said this after Marcos took part in the said meeting in Pasay City on Monday morning, May 13.
In a statement, Garafil said the President shared his insights on some of the proposed programs that aimed to boost the PAF’s capabilities. She, however, did not disclose further details.
“The President was briefed on the recent activities, plans, and proposed projects of the Philippine Air Force,” she said.
“The President gave his guidance and instructions on some of the proposed programs to further strengthen the PAF as it defends the country's sovereignty, territory, and development,” she added.
Meanwhile, the PAF said commanders from different units and senior staff officers, led by the Commanding General, PAF, LtGen Stephen P. Parreño, briefed the Commander-in-Chief, senior Malacañan officials, and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro on the PAF’s recent activities and plans in the performance of its mandate as the air arm for national defense.
They provided insights and recommendations to President Marcos on ways to further strengthen the country's airpower capability to effectively guard and defend the Philippines from various emerging security challenges, including enhancing its capabilities for disaster response.
The PAF also thanked Marcos for taking the time to hear their updates.
“The Philippine Air Force expresses its deep appreciation to our Commander-in-Chief for his guidance and personal engagement with our leaders in this 2nd Quarter Command Conference,” it said.
“We look forward to his continuous support in our modernization efforts to become a truly capable, credible, and sustainable Air Force that our nation needs and deserves,” it added.
